Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth held a rally near the North Korean embassy here today, urging Malaysian government to withdraw from its visa-free agreement with the country following the continuous disrespect and questioning of Malaysian rule of law.

Its deputy chairman, Khairul Azwan Harun said the demand demonstrated the deep anger and dissatisfaction felt by Malaysians when the country's own law was questioned by a foreign party.

The group then delivered a protest memorandum to the North Korean embassy in Kuala Lumpur claiming the country has "on an impermissible scale blatantly and undiplomatically defamed Malaysia."

"The numerous statements released (by North Korea) contain serious and unfounded defamatory accusations to the effect of painting our rule of law as susceptible to foreign interventions, manipulations and incapable of delivering a right and fair result.

"Malaysia, as a sovereign state will never tolerate any act of intrusions and disrespect towards our institution, leadership and the people of Malaysia," he told reporters after handing over a two-page note of protest to the embassy's representative, here today.

Khairul Azwan also called on the Malaysian government to immediately take action against North Korea such as "to revoke on the free visa agreement" as the country, according to Harun and his supporters, has intruded "into Malaysia's sovereignty and our process of law".

The relations between the two nations have recently deteriorated as the tussle over the body of Kim Jong Nam, Kim Jon Un's half brother, continues.

North Korea says Malaysia's investigation into the death of one of its nationals is full of "holes and contradictions" amid speculation that its agents masterminded the assassination of Kim Jong Nam.

Jong Nam was at KL International Airport 2 (KLIA2) at 8am on Feb 13 to board a flight to Macau.

An hour later, two women suddenly appeared before Jong-nam, and wiped his face with the palms of their hands which contained a poisonous liquid.

Jong Nam sought help at a customer service counter at the airport and was rushed to Putrajaya Hospital but died on the way.

He had come to Malaysia on Feb 6 and carried a passport bearing the name Kim Chol.
