Kelantan police confiscated heroin valued at more than RM80,000 in two separate raids carried out in Melor here on Saturday and in Kampung Chenulang in Kuala Krai yesterday.

Kelantan acting police chief SAC Din Ahmad said police detained a married couple aged 38 and 32 in a car near Melor and seized 160 grammes of heroin at 10.10pm on Saturday.

In Kampung Chenulang yesterday, Din said police detained a 40-year-old man and seized two bottles, believed to contain heroin.

Commenting on the robbery and murder case in Kampung Mengkebang, Kuala Krai last Wednesday, Din said one of the four suspects arrested on Saturday admitted to the crime.

"The suspect admitted throwing away the knife used in the incident in a river and we believe the suspect who was a former securityforcespersonnel attempted to rob but it ended up with a murder when the victim fought back.

The case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, he said.
