Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah has retained all state executive council (Exco) members from the previous line-up of his predecessor Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir.

The individuals include the three previous Exco members who were loyal to Mukhriz, Datuk Norsabrina Mohd Noor, Datuk Aminuddin Omar and Datuk Suraya Yaacob.

The re-appointment of the existing members has put an end to rumours saying that Ahmad Bashah will drop the trio under his administration.

The swearing in ceremony started around 10am today after Ahmad Bashah’s arrival at the Istana Anak Bukit, in Alor Setar.

All nine exco members took their oath of office before Kedah Regency Council chairman, Tan Sri Tunku Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah.

They also include Datuk Tajul Urus Mat Zain, Datuk Badrul Hisham Hashim, Datuk Mohd Rawi Abd Hamid, Datuk Mohd Tajudin Abdullah, Datuk Dr Ku Abd Rahman Ku Ismail and Datuk Dr Leong Yong Kong.

Their portfolios, however, will be announced later.

Mukhriz annouced his resignation as Menteri Besar on February 3 after Kedah UMNO declared on January 20 that they lost confidence in Mukhriz's leadership and wanted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to intervene.
