The Kamunting Rapid Bus services providing shuttles from Kamunting to Taiping will begin operations in March, said Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) Logistics Division director, Syed Safarudin Syed Zainal Abidin.

Syed Safarudin said the service involving a fleet of seven buses, was jointly carried out by the NCIA, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, Taiping Municipal Council and Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad.

He said there will be two routes for the service, namely a 24-km shuttle around Taiping, and a 11-km trip from Kamunting to the Taiping town.

"Visitors to the town will have the opportunity to ride the bus with fares ranging from RM1 to RM3, per trip.

"This is a comfortable, fast and user-friendly service," he told reporters after a media briefing on the Greater Kamunting, for public transportation and mobilisation at the KTMB station here, Saturday.
