In just four days, two vacant halls have been transformed into fully equipped treatment centres.

That is the feat of the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) in a joint effort to combat the spread of COVID-19.

What is even more remarkable is that the halls were successfully transformed into a treatment centre when the Movement Control Order (MCO) came into force.

The two halls measuring 9,600 square meters and 3,600 square meters – that can accommodate 604 patients at a time -- are now ready to serve as a quarantine and treatment centre of COVID-19 for those with mild or no symptoms at all.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba in a statement said the centre would house patients from the Klang Valley, Perak and Negeri Sembilan.

Meanwhile, in an article published by Twentytwo13 portal, MAEPS Chief Operating Officer Norafizah Rahman said she was well-versed in transforming the halls under her management based on previous events such as concerts and automotive shows.

But she did not expect that they would be able to convert the two halls into a treatment centre in a matter of just four days.
