The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar is happy and satisfied with the progress of the Islamic religious learning of Dennis Muhammad Abdullah, the bridegroom-to-be of the ruler's only daughter, Tunku Tun Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

Former State Secretary, Datuk Ismail Karim who spoke to the Johor Royal Press Office was quoted as saying that Dennis Muhammad was being guided on Islam by a group of religious teachers from the Johor Islamic Religious Department since early March, this year.

In a statement Tuesday, the Royal Press Office said Ismail and his wife Datin Zawaiah Mohamed were made the foster family of Dennis Muhammad with the consent of Sultan Ibrahim and Permaisuri Johor, Raja Zarith Sofia Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah.

Ismail said the bridegroom-to-be was being guided through an intensive and systematic Islamic religious learning module to enable him to learn the Quran and fardu ain, as well as Bahasa Melayu, Johor royal protocol and customs, Jawi writing and the state government's organisational structure.

"Within three months, he could follow the lessons well, including memorising the last 10 chapters of the Quran, and the Doa Qunut and Ayat Kursi.

"He has also not missed performing Friday prayers as well as Tarawih prayers throughout the month of Ramadan," said Ismail, who had presented a progress report on the Islamic religious learning of Dennis Muhammad to the Sultan on July 5.

Dennis Muhammad, 28, who is from the Netherlands, converted to Islam on May 31, 2015. The solemnisation of marriage to Tunku Tun Aminah and wedding ceremony at Istana Bukit Serene, here, will be held on Aug 14.
