The auditor of a local airline, Malindo Air, Suraiza Hamzah, was found dead in her house at Taman Tun Dr Ismail, believed to have been beaten to death by her husband.

Brickfields police chief ACP Sharul Othman Mansor said Suraiza, 46, was found by her son, 17, in the hall of their house at Lorong Aminuddin Baki Dua, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, here at 7.30pm.

"The victim's husband, aged 47, was detained by police about an hour after the incident to facilitate investigations," he said in a statement Monday.

Sharulsaid initial investigations revealed that the couple were involved in an argument after the husband had accused his wife of having an affair with another man.

The unemployed husband who is believed to be mentally unstable had allegedly hit his wife with a blunt object.

Shahrulsaid when the son found his mother motionless on the floor, he contacted his relative who later called the police.

"The body of the victim was later sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) for post-mortem," he said.

The case will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, he said.
