Individuals ordered with quarantine at home must isolate themselves from their family members until a second swab test confirms they are COVID-19 negative.

Senior Minister (Security), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the action needed to be taken to avoid those quarantined from infecting other family members.

"Those who are required to undergo compulsory quarantine at home should be in the room at home and should not roam around the house.

"Food should also be placed outside the door, knock on their room, pick up the food and then remove the food.

"So, that’s what quarantine at home means, not sitting in the living room with other family members because despite being negative on the 13th day of quarantine, they will be checked again.

“Only if negative a second time they will be considered completely free of COVID-19," he said in a daily press conference here on Saturday.

Ismail Sabri added that any person who violates the compulsory quarantine process and the standard operating procedure (SOP) would be fined RM1,000 or be brought to court.

As of Friday, 748 Malaysians who had just returned from abroad were ordered to stay in their homes.
