Datuk Abdul Hamid Bador said he would never turn against Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, even if he were to be "cut in pieces", The Malay Mail Online reported tonight.

The former Bukit Aman Special Branch deputy director I, who yesterday experienced a sudden transfer to the Prime Minister’s Department, also denied a rumour on social media that he would file a report against the former premier.

Earlier today, a text message was being circulated on the WhatsApp application claiming that Abdul Hamid would be holding a media conference at Bukit Aman after Friday prayers tomorrow to "explain Dr Mahathir’s involvement in the doctoring and fabrication of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) documents to attack and topple the Prime Minister" (Datuk Seri Najib Razak).

The message also claimed that Abdul Hamid would after then lodge a police report with "all evidences" for Dr Mahathir to be charged under Section 124 of the Penal Code along with Sarawak Report founder and editor, Clare Rewcastle Brown.

"Even if I am cut in 12 pieces, I will never defame the servant of Allah who has contributed so much to the country," The Malay Mail Online report quoted Abdul Hamid as saying.

Yesterday, Malaysiakini reported that Abdul Hamid had resigned from his post in Special Branch after receiving the letter of transfer the day before.

He, who has served the Royal Malaysian Police for 37 years, however claimed that he didn’t know the reason for the transfer.

The transfer had been reportedly confirmed by Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.

Abdul Hamid, who is currently on leave, would commence his new duties as the deputy director of a new Security and Transnational division in the PM’s Department on Sept 2.
