KUALA LUMPUR: The story about an International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) student who missed the electric train (ETS) home to celebrate Aidiladha due to the Light Rail Transit (LRT) service disruption this morning, caught the attention of ETS operator, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB).

And as a gesture of goodwill, KTMB offered her a new ticket free of charge.
Nurul Khairiah Ahmad Zaki, 22, who was among the passengers stranded at the Gombak LRT Station for over an hour due to the service disruption, said she was offered a ticket to Taiping, Perak scheduled for 10.30am today.

"I was surprised to receive a call from KTMB, but I'm glad to finally be able to go home to celebrate Aidiladha with my family," she told Bernama last night.
Bernama had earlier reported Nurul Khairiah's plight of not being able to return home for Aidiladha after missing the train, as she could not afford to get another ticket.

The student, in her Facebook post, also thanked all those who had helped her get back to her hometown, especially KTMB, and the Land Public Transport Commission.

"Alhamdulillah, Allah sent all the great people to help me today. May Allah give us His blessings and make easy for us. I hope that your life reflect joy, peace and your every step be guarded and guided. Allah give you something better than what was taken form you," she said.
