Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar has convened a meeting with Thai Deputy Inspector-General of Police Chaktip Chaijinda to discuss the permission to interrogate the former executive of PetroSaudi International Ltd (PSI) Xavier Justo, who is being held in that country.

Khalid said the meeting was held yesterday.

"I have met with him (Chaktip) and exchanged information and intelligence regarding the issue, but I'm not ready to disclose the details of our discussion to the public," he said.

Khalid said this after attending the ASEAN Ministerial Emergency Meeting on Cross-Border Crime Involving Illegal Migrants Movement in Southeast Asian Region here today.

On June 24, Thailand police were reported to have arrested the Swiss national for attempting to blackmail PSI, an international company based in Saudi Arabia which had drawn attention in Malaysia as it had established ties with 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

Following the attempted blackmail, several e-mails and documents were published by the Sarawak Report, a politically-motivated blog, to the extent of creating various allegations against 1MDB.
