Inspector-general of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar has shunned numerous calls to detain certain individuals for leaking a series of scandal involving a high-ranking official in the country.

Khalid was commenting on a question pertaining the numerous calls by certain quarters urging him to arrest former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad following allegations aimed at tarnishing the credibility of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“I’m clueless ... there have been some people urging me to arrest ‘that person’ and ‘this person’.

“I have no reason to arrest Tun Mahathir. Personally, the suggestion was ‘naughty’. I don’t have to entertain these suggestions,” Khalid told the media at Op Selamat 7/2015 launching ceremony in conjunction with upcoming Aidilfitri celebration at the foyer of KL Sentral Station, here today.

Global Movement of Moderates (GMM) chief executive officer Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah on Monday has called for the arrest of Dr Mahathir, citing that the Dr Mahathir was the mastermind behind the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal implicating Najib for alleged embezzlement of national-linked funds.
