For the past one year, the young married couple lived life on the fast lane, with several vehicles and motorcycles at their disposal.

They were the envy of neighbours as they would travel in a Mini Coopper one day, a Honda Civic the next, followed by a Mitsubishi Triton pick-up truck, among others.

The couple also had an assortment of jewellery to wear on their many outings - until the police exposed what allegedly fuelled their high-living lifestyle - drugs!

Pahang Narcotics Crime Investigation Department chief, Supt Amran Ramli said last Tuesday, a police team detained the man about 1.40pm at a road-shoulder near the Kuantan Municipal Council in Jalan Kamunting near here.

He said about 600 methamphetamine pills and syabu weighing 52.75 grammes were found in the 26-year-old suspect's sling bag found in his motorcycle basket.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference here today, Amran said the police later raided the suspect's house in Pandan Jaya Village near here and nabbed his 29-year-old wife.

After further checks on the house led the police to seize 121 grammes of syabu, RM1,000 and jewellery worth RM75,021.

"A Honda Civic, Mini Cooper, Mitsubishi Triton, Perodua Myvi and three motorcycles, all estimated at RM400,000 were also seized," said Amran.

He said initial investigations revealed that the couple began selling drugs in the Kuantan area early this year.

They have been remanded for a week to facilitate investigations.
