Healthy Malaysians, aged 35 and below, who wish to participate in the National Service Training Programme (PLKN) 2.0 can do so by registering themselves at the nearest training camp starting today until Monday (Oct 2).

National Service Training Department director-general Datuk Mohmed Asri Yusof said the potential trainees need only comply with simple requirements such as being physically healthy and having obtained permission from their parents or guardians.

"If they met the requirements, the letter of admission to PLKN will be issued by the commandant of the camp they had applied for..there are 52 PLKN training camps nationwide to receive those who have voluntarily applied to join," he said.

He told reporters this after welcoming trainees of PLKN 2.0 for Group 3, Series 14/2017, at the compound of Shah Alam Stadium here today.

He said about 10,000 trainees were expected to join the PLKN 2.0 Goup 3, beginning today, and 22,000 trainees had already enrolled in PLKN 2.0 for Series 14/2017.

On the safety of the trainees, Mohmed Asri said each camp was fully equipped with infrastructure and conducive training environment.

"Each camp must comply with the established safety and health standards and regular checks are also carried out by relevant agencies," he said.
