The Member of Parliament for Sepang, Mohamed Hanipa Maidin successfully underwent a surgery at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for brain haemorrhage.

Amanah Deputy Presdent Salahuddin Ayub when contacted said the surgery began at 9.30pm on Monday.

“He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) … let’s pray for his speedy recovery, said Salahuddin briefly to Astro AWANI here today.

Hanipa was rushed to the hospital after he collapsed while attending a Dewan Rakyat session on Monday.

In the 5.30pm incident, Hanipa began to lose consciousness after had complained of feeling nauseous and giddy shortly before the recess.

Malaysiakini reported that Ipoh MP, M Kulasegaran said that Hanipa had informed him about his condition.

“Everyone stood up during recess (except him). He just sat there (in the House) and couldn’t get up. Charles Santiago (DAP-Klang) and I approached him but he ignored us,” he added.

Hanipa was appointed Sepang MP since 2013 under PAS and joined Amanah last year.
