The HSBC bank branch in Taman Molek, Johor Baharu where a security guard ran amok and stabbed a bank officer to death and injured another, will be closed for two days.

“HSBC is deeply saddened by the incident at the Taman Molek Branch, Johor with one member of staff tragically passing away and another injured and is receiving treatment in hospital.,” the bank said in a statement today.

“As a mark of respect, the HSBC Taman Molek branch will be closed on Monday, 20 April and Tuesday, 21 April 2015,” the statement read.

“Our thoughts are with the families of the deceased and injured members of staff. We are providing support and assistance to the affected employees and their families,” the bank said.

In the 3.30pm incident, HSBC bank officer Ho Chin Tau 33, sustained stab wounds in the face and chest while his female colleague, aged 54, was slashed in the face when a 44-year-old security guard ran amok and attacked them.
