Negeri Sembilan has attracted 4,270 people to register with the Volunteer Smartphone Patrol (VSP) application launched by the Royal Malaysia Police about two months ago.

State police deputy chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said the good response put the state in second spot after Sabah which recorded the highest number of VSP users nationwide.

"Even though it was recently launched, the portal has assisted the police to solve criminal cases reported by the public.

"Apart from the VSP portal, the people can also report any criminal activity via hotline or 999. It is just that via VSP portal, they can send video to facilitate the police to track down criminals," he told the media after attending a breaking of fast with Seremban police headquarters staff here tonight.
