The air quality nationwide has returned to good with no areas recording unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) reading as at 9am today.

According to the Department of Environment's (DOE) portal, 15 areas reported a good API reading of between 0 and 50 while 36 areas recorded moderate air quality (51 to 100).

The areas with moderate API are Larkin Lama, Muar, Pasir Gudang, Bakar Arang in Sungai Petani, SMK Tanjung Chat in Kota Bharu, Bandaraya Melaka, Bukit Rambai, Nilai, Port Dickson, Seremban, Balok Baru in Kelantan, Indera Mahkota in Kuantan, Jalan Tasek in Ipoh, Kg Air Putih in Taiping, S. K Pegoh in Ipoh, Seri Manjung, Tanjung Malim, Seberang Jaya 2 in Prai and USM in Penang.

Also with moderate air quality are Bintulu, Kapit, Kuching, Samarahan, Sibu, Sri Aman, Banting, Kuala Selangor, Port Klang, Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, Kemaman, Kuala Terengganu, Paka, Batu Muda and Cheras in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

The area with good API are Kota Tinggi, Alor Setar, Tanah Merah, Jerantut, Kangar, Perai, Keningau, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, ILP Miri, Limbang, Miri, Sarikei and Labuan.

An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy and 300 and above, hazardous.
