Food truck business can help boost the country's tourism sector, especially in the food-tourism sub-sector which is gaining popularity among local and foreign tourists.

Deputy Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said the food business which uses lorries provides an alternative for tourists to enjoy the tastes of Malaysian food.

"If we look at some tourist destinations, like Melaka, they (tourists) often have problems buying food, especially during peak seasons, like school or public holidays.

"The food truck becomes their choice to buy food, especially because it is fast and easy," she told reporters after launching the Le'Park@Mastana programme at the Arked Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) in Masjid Tanah here Sunday.
