The flood situation is improving in Kelantan as of noon with 10,783 evacuees compared to 12,064 this morning.

Twenty relief centres were still open in Pasir Mas, Tumpat and Pasir Puteh, according to the Social Welfare Department of Malaysia (JKM) via the flood application (infobanjir) application.

Most victims were at 12 centres in Pasir Mas (6,741 people from 2,608 families), Tumpat, at seven centres, (4,015/1,286) and Pasir Puteh, at one centre, (27/5).

According to the state government website at http://ebanjir.kelantan.gov.my only the water in Sungai Golok at Rantau Panjang was still above the danger level (nine metres) but declining, namely, 9.34 metres compared to 9.47 metres, this morning.

Meanwhile, the water in the Kelantan River was below the danger level with the reading at Jambatan Guillemard, Tanah Merah at 12.72 metres compared to 12.62 metres this morning (danger level is 16 metres) while the levels of water in other major rivers had normalised.

The weather in the state was reported to be bright.
