A male despatch rider has been remanded for four days beginning today to assist in the investigations on SRC International Sdn Bhd, an entity of state development fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

The 27-year-old suspect was detained at his residence in Bentong, Pahang around 6.30pm Saturday by a team of Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) officers.

The remand order was issued today by Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahman at the Putrajaya magistrate’s court to assist in the investigation under Section 16(a) of the MACC Act 2009.

It is understood that the MACC had applied for a seven-day remand but was granted four.

The suspect, who is the fifth individual to be detained in connection with the 1MDB probe, is believed to have links with the businessman who owns a firm linked to SRC International.

The businessman was arrested last Thursday.
