Group President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV), Datuk Zakaria Arshad who is currently on a leave of absence due to a domestic inquiry, will know his fate today.

Speaking to reporters after the final round of the inquiry, Zakaria said he was made to understand that the FGV board of directors will convene today for a decision.

He said the inquiry, which concerns dealings between FGV subsidiary Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd and business partner Safitex Trading LLC, lasted an hour.

"I hope everything turns out well. I don't want to jump the gun (when it comes to the decision). I will leave it to the wisdom of the board, including the new chairman, to assess this case," he added.

FGV's newly-appointed Chairman, Datuk Wira Azhar Abdul Hamid clocked in today. He had his first meeting with key management staff on the premises, and was also scheduled to have a management meeting in the afternoon.

Zakaria said he was unable to meet Azhar due to the tight schedule of meetings.
