Government retirees' experiences while in service can also be used to achieve the objectives of the National Transformation 2015 (TN50).

As such, Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said government retirees should not be sidelined as their experiences could be used as guidelines to ensure success of the TN50 concept mooted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

"The retirees'' experiences are vast. No young man can ever have have that. And those experiences were obtained not just within a year or two, but tens of years while they were leading their organisations at the federal, state, department, agency, district or even school level.

"If combined and assimilated, these experiences and expertise would definitely be very beneficial for the country," he said at the closing of TN50 Forum (Retirees) organised by the Malaysian Government Retirees Foundation (YPKM), here, Tuesday.

Meanwhile, YPKM chairman Tan Sri Dr Aseh Che Mat said they were planning to hold such a forum at several other locations nationwide.

He said all resolutions from the forum would be all taken to the attention of the prime minister to ensure that all input were taken into account as part of the effort to make TN50 a reality. - BERNAMA
