Wanita UMNO said the present 55 years age limit for Employees Provident Fund (EPF) members to withdraw from their accounts is reasonable.

Malaysians should be given the option to manage their hard earned money accumulated over decades, its information chief, Datuk Rosni Zahari said in a statement, Saturday.

Yesterday, EPF Chief Executive Officer Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan said it y was considering to align the withdrawal close to the retirement age of 60 years.

Rosni said Wanita UMNO applaud the EPF for striving to improve existing policies in the public interest, but the proposal should be scrutinised.

"Although it is still at proposal stage, sometimes it can be misinterpreted and cause worry among the people," she added.
