An engineer with an investment agency was found dead with a gunshot wound in the head here.

It was learnt that the body of the man, in his 50s, was found in a bathroom on the second floor of his double-storey house in Section 7 by his father-in-law about 1.15pm today.

Shah Alam district deputy police chief Supt Nek Zaidi Zakaria said a shotgun was found alongside the body.

"The father-in-law, who had just returned home from picking up his grandchild in school, heard the gunshot which was coming from the upper floor.

"He immediately rushed into the house before stumbling on the victim lying in a pool of blood," he told reporters when met at the scene.

Nek Zaidi said the victim was reportedly alone at home while his wife was at work.

It was also learnt that the father of four had suffered from depression after being jobless for two months.

The body was sent to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) in Klang for post mortem.

The case was now classified as sudden death, added Nek Zaidi.
