The body of the family of five victims who drowned in the Belukar Bukit waterfall here Saturday afternoon were buried early this morning.

They were buried in one grave at the Kampong Arang cemetery at 1.45am.

The victims, who were from Bandar Puncak Alam, Selangor, were identified as Abdul Halim Samian, 44, his wife Nurul Adila@Salawati Awang, 39, and their three children Nurul Arifah, 16, Nurul Aina, 11, and Nurul Izah, 10.

Abdul Halim’s father, Samian Somo, 84, said the whole family rushed to Kuala Terengganu from Muar, Johor as soon as they was informed of the incident.

“It is God’s fate, we leave it to Him. We were surprised when we received the news at 12pm when we were having our lunch. We could not finish eating including my daughter who his (Abdul Halim) younger sister. He was here during Hari Raya and there was not different about him. This is indeed surprising. We did not believe it until it was confirmed,” said Samian.
