Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was not the least disturbed by the ‘faulty lights’ incident at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) on Wednesday which caused his portrait to be dimmed.

“That’s their right. If they want to break it or burn it… it’s their right. We are a free country,” said the veteran politician.

The former premier was speaking to reporters at a ‘buka puasa’ event organised by Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) in Kampung Baru last night.

Dr Mahathir was also asked about the Malaysian Government’s involvement in the recent arrest of an ex-PetroSaudi International staff, Xavier Justo.

“I don’t know. There are many clever propagandists hard at work. My face is blackened, my legacy destroyed,” he uttered.
