Malaysia does not want the intervention of foreign hands in the country's administration, including on the issue of the lawsuits filed by the United States (US) Department Of Justice (DOJ) in connection with the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

Melaka chief minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said the intervention by the US on the issue was seen as an effort by the country to interfere in Malaysia's administration.

"I am surprised with the quick action by the us to interfere in Malaysia's administration when the country (us) itself is having issues of its own which are closer to their people and have yet to be resolved," he told reporters when met at an Aidilfitri open house hosted by the chairman of Gagasan Badan Ekonomi Melayu (Gabem) Tan Sri Dr Abdul Rahim Tamby Chik here today.

Last Tuesday, the U.S. Department of justice filed lawsuits seeking to seize dozens of properties tied to Malaysian state fund 1MDB, saying that over $3.5 billion was misappropriated from the institution.
