Police seized two luxury cars, a Rolls Royce and a Lamborghini Aventador belonging to a businessman with the title 'Datuk Seri' at an apartment in Jalan Raja Chulan, here, in two raids on Monday and yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur police chief, Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh said the gold Rolls Royce was seized for using a fake registration plate number and was not registered with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) while the Lamborghini Aventador was taken for a Customs offence.

He said the seizure of the gold Rolls Royce was carried out by a Kuala Lumpur police CID team at 1 pm on Monday.

"The vehicle was parked at the apartment and a 39-year-old man who is the car driver was detained for further investigation," he told a press conference, here, today.

Amar Singh said from the police investigation, another vehicle, a yellow Lamborghini Aventador belonging to the businessman was also seized yesterday evening for a Customs Act infringement.

According to Amar Singh, the Datuk Seri, 50, from Kelantan who was doing business in the state was now overseas.

Police will be checking with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department and JPJ to verify the status of both vehicles valued at RM3.4 million, and the case is being investigated under the Customs Act 1967.
