It isn’t a scene out of Hollywood film, ‘The Walk' that chronicles French high-wire artist, Philippe Petit's biggest coup in conquering the summit of New York's World Trade Centre in 1974.

The daredevil stunt had occurred here by a teenager who boldly climbed the ladders of a 30-metre crane at a construction site of Ipoh Convention Centre located next to the Ipoh City Council building.

The video of his act made its round on social media starting Dec 31 and has since gone viral.

Following the incident, construction contractor, Sycal Berhad had lodged a police report at the Pekan Baru Police Station, here today.

The construction site manager, Mohamad Jaafar Sadri said, the company learnt about the incident on Sunday and an urgent meeting with the security company and crane operator to discuss it.

“A police report was lodged at 10am today and the Ipoh City Council had been notified about the incident,” he told Astro AWANI here today.

Mohamad Jaafar also said that the daredevil act by the teenager could have taken place between two and three weeks ago when there were no works done at the construction site.

He said that an investigation is ongoing as to how the teenager had access to a prohibited area with 24-hour security control.

The teenager could possibly climbed the crane located on the 16th floor of the building with a height of 100-metre from the ground, he added.

It is believed that it was the same teenager who had brought a group of girls to climb the Ipoh landmark at Jalan Kuala Kangsar.

The girls had reportedly surrendered at the Ipoh District Police headquarters and brought to the Kampung Tawas police station to record their statements.
