Civil servants in Malacca will be given special leave from duty on Friday (July 8) if Hari Raya Aidilfitri is declared on Wednesday (July 6).

Malacca state secretary Datuk Naim Abu Bakar said the special leave from duty is not applicable if Hari Raya Aidilfitri is declared on Tuesday.

"Members of the public planning to get government services on that special public holiday are encouraged to visit the departments and agencies concerned before the Hari Raya Aidilfitri public holidays," he said in a statement Sunday.

He said the implementation of the directive included all state statutory bodies, local authorities and state government subsidiaries.
