The remains of Mohammad Ezzaq Azraf Azumi, 23, the Malaysian who was drowned at Cunca Wulang waterfalls in Flores in the Mibelling district in Flores last weekend was laid to rest at the Taman Bukit Permata burial ground in Sri Gombak here at 10.30pm last night.

His remains arrived at the Al-Khairiah Mosque in Taman Sri Gombak from KLIA cargo complex in Sepang at about 7.05pm, last night.

The remains of his best friend, Mohamad Azfar Tahir, 23 also arrived on the same flight.

Mohamad Azfar was brought to his resident in Kampung Padang Balang and buried this morning at the Taman Muda Muslim burial ground this morning.

Meanwhile, sombre situation was evident at Mohammad Ezzaq’s resident.

His mother, Nik Rozaini Nik Mohd Nawi, 46 when met admitted that she was hesitant to allow Mohammad Ezzaq, the second child out of four siblings to go on the vacation.

She finally gave in, after his son disclosed to her that he had planned for the holiday a year ago.

Nik Rozaini also added that his son who worked at a boutique at Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) was close to her.

In the 10.30am incident on Saturday it was reported that Mohammad Ezzaq went missing after he jumped into the waterfall pool.

When Mohammad Ezzaq realised that he was missing, he jumped with their local guide to rescue the former. Unfortunately, the duo also disappeared.

The victims along with three other companions Mohammad Imran Had Helmy Had, Muhammad Nurhafiz Nor Adzmi dan Mohamad Qayyum Pirdous were on a vacation in Lombok on April 11.

All of them were close since primary schooldays and often went for holidays together.
