A sum of RM3 million will be allocated through the Selangor Prihatin Economic Stimulus Package 2.0 for the operation of the Selangor Quarantine Station, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

In presenting the RM272 million package today, Amirudin said the station would be used for the placement of congregants of a tabligh cluster as well as those from Selangor who have just returned from overseas.

"The state government will provide RM3 million for the operation of the Selangor State Quarantine Station which is operating for persons under surveillance from the tabligh cluster and overseas arrivals," he added.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) had previously said that Selangor was a relatively critical state in terms of the number of COVID-19 positive cases, with some districts recording the highest prevalence of infections.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah had earlier said the ministry expected some areas in Selangor to be declared as Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) areas.

In an update on MOH on Sunday, four districts in Selangor, namely Petaling, Hulu Langat, Gombak and Klang were listed as red zones.
