The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM) has confirmed that some COVID-19 related news on social media were false, including allegations that the tahfiz students will become a new cluster in spreading the virus after the tabligh cluster.

The ministry’s Quick Response Team in a statement yesterday has also denied allegations that the Ministry of Health (MOH) has released a checklist of COVID-19 symptoms that misused the ministry's logo.

In addition, according to the statement, Pos Malaysia has also denied an employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

The statement added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KLN) has also denied that Malaysians who were flown back from India were made up of MIC members only.

The ministry, however, said it would continue efforts to bring back Malaysians who were still stranded in India.

For the record, as of Wednesday, 1,679 Malaysians were still stranded in India.
