KUALA LUMPUR: Quarantine at home has not rendered Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin inactive.

In spite of the isolation, the prime minister is still monitoring the latest developments in the COVID-19 situation in Malaysia.

He spent 40 minutes to hold a video conference with Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on Thursday.

Among those discussed was a campaign to encourage leaders to strengthen their communities to ensure that all parties could carry out the task of preventing the spread of COVID-19.
"I believe this campaign could educate the public to be more responsible in ensuring that SOPs are complied with and will ultimately ease the burden of frontliners.

"This step is also very important in drafting an exit plan for the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), which is also the final criterion that must be met before the CMCO can be completed.
"We also discussed about the repatriation of illegal immigrants (PATI) who are COVID-19 negative.

"I have directed that the process be expedited to reduce the risk of recurring COVID-19 infection among PATI who are at the immigration detention depots," he said in a Facebook post.

The prime minister also denied allegations that he was undergoing medical treatment in Singapore.

"I would like to state that the allegation is not true at all.

"For your information, I am undergoing quarantine at my home in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur," he added.

On May 22, the Prime Minister's Office announced that Muhyiddin had to undergo a 14-day quarantine at his residence after one of the officials present at the COVID-19 post-Cabinet meeting was confirmed of COVID-19 positive.

The statement also said that the COVID-19 tests conducted confirmed that Muhyiddin was negative for the infection.
