Malaysia records another COVID-19 death, bringing the cumulative death toll up to 21, says Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The deceased was a 63-year-old male (Case-1588) with a history of chronic illness. He was one of the tabligh participants at Masjid Jamek Sri Petaling.

“The patient showed symptoms and underwent testing on 22 March 2020. His was tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar on 23 March 2020. His condition deteriorated and he was pronounced dead on 26 March 2020 at 4am,” says Noor Hisham in a statement on Facebook.

“KKM extends our condolences to the patients’ family.”
