71 COVID-19 cases in Malaysia were reported to have recovered and allowed to be discharged from hospital.

In his daily press conference here today, Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said it brought the total number of cases fully recovered from COVID-19 to 4,484 cases.

At the same time, there were 55 new cases reported, bringing the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Malaysia to 6,353.

Seven of the 55 new cases were imported cases while of 48 others were local cases.

He added that Malaysia did not record any deaths within 24 hours, making the cumulative death rate a total of 105 cases, or 1.65 percent of the total number of cases.

To date, 28 cases of positive COVID-19 are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and of these, only 13 cases require respiratory assistance.
