Malaysia recorded an additional 70 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday.

According to Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham, the new cases involved 13 import cases and 57 local outbreaks.

"Of the 70 new cases, 31 were non-Malaysian.

"Of the total, 13 were from import cases, meaning 57 were local," he said at a daily press conference by the Ministry of Health (MOH) here today.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 6,726 cases.

At the same time, Dr Noor Hisham also informed of one death and 88 cases that have recovered.

The 109th death (Case 6657) was a 63-year-old Malaysian citizen with chronic illness.

The addition of another death resulted in a total of 109 fatalities or 1.62% of the total number of cases.
