Perak police arrested 105 suspects believed to have been involved in triad activities in the first six months of this year.

State CID chief Datuk Gan Tian Kee said they were suspected of being members of Geng 04 (40), Geng 08 (32), Gang 360 (23), Gang 24 (6), Gang 36 (2) and Geng 21 (2).

"A total of 66 investigation papers were opened, resulting in six charged in court while 14 suspects were not subjected to further action," he said in a statement here today adding that a new group called Gang 360 had just originated in Perak following the arrest of 23 suspects, including a woman two days ago in Sungai Siput.

"... before this there were no Gang 360 members in the state," he said.

On Sunday, Perak police detained 23 local residents including a woman, believed to have been involved in triad activities, under 'Op Cantas' at Persiaran Lintang Makmor 9, Taman Lintang Makmor in Sungai Siput.

The suspects, aged between 22 and 55, were arrested during a ceremonial swearing-in at about 4.30pm.
