UMNO Youth vice-chief Khairul Azwan Harun will be called up by the police tomorrow to have his statement recorded regarding the police report he made on Tuesday.

Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed this today, saying it is in connection with his allegation that certain individuals were conspiring to topple Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and the government of Malaysia.

The Inspector-General of Police said this to reporters after launching the closing ceremony of the 36th ASEAN Chief Polices (ASEANAPOL) Conference here today.

On Tuesday, Khairul Azwan lodged a police report at the Dang Wangi Police Station involving former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed, former Bank Negara Malaysia Governor Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz and former Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail.

In the report, he claimed the three have either individually or collectively conspired to bring down Najib as the Prime Minister and the legitimate Malaysian government.

"I have valid reasons to believe these individuals have provided confidential information and documents to the agencies in the United States, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI),” he had said.

Tan Sri Abdul Gani in commenting on the report had said the allegation that he was involved in such a conspiracy was just a ruse by certain parties to seek publicity.
