With two days left before the expiry of the Conditional Movement Control (CMCO), some Malaysians proved to be stubborn when 61 individuals were arrested for violating the CMCO directives on Saturday.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the PDRM also issued compounds to 159 individuals, including 28 at roadblocks.

He said 225,345 vehicles were searched by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) as of Saturday compared with 293,181 the previous day.

"The inspections were carried out at 133 cross-border roadblocks across the country," he said at a press conference here on Sunday.

In a similar development, Ismail Sabri said the PDRM-led Compliance Operations Task Force conducted 72,889 checks on Saturday to monitor and enforce compliance with the CMCO's standard operating procedure (SOP).

Meanwhile, he said the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) had conducted 7,740 sanitation operations covering 132 zones as of Saturday.

“A total of 11,252 premises have been sanitized comprising 2,650 business centres, government buildings (4,309), residential areas including PPR (1,584), public places (2,357) and supermarkets (352).

"Yesterday, 48 sanitation operations were carried out in 38 zones involving 12 states including Sabah with 11 operations while Johor, Sarawak and Terengganu each had six operations," he said.
