The government has decided to allow interstate travel for marriage solemnisation purposes during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob however said organisers of the solemnisation ceremonies must fully abide by the standard operating procedure (SOP) enforced under the CMCO.

“Many are seeking permission to travel interstate for marriage solemnisation purposes.

“As such, in today’s meeting (the Special Ministerial Meeting) we decided to give the green light on this but they have to follow the SOP which includes social distancing and avoid mass gathering,” he told the daily press conference on the CMCO here today.

Ismail Sabri said the government had also agreed to allow pre-wedding photoshoots in open spaces on condition those involved must comply with the stipulated SOP.
