Two men were jointly charged in the Magistrate's Court here today with arranging to facilitate acquisition and control of property for IS terrorists.

Mohamad Fauzi Misrak, 35, who worked as a chef in Singapore and Rohaimi Abd Rahim, 38, a financial consultant, allegedly committed the offence at Maybank Berhad, Subang Jaya branch in Jalan SS15/4D near here between December 2013 and July 2014.

The charge under Section 130P of the Penal Code, read with Section 34 of the same code carries the death sentence or up to 30 years' jail and liable to a fine, upon conviction.

The duo nodded to indicate they understood the charge read to them by the interpreter before Magistrate Erry Shahriman Nor Aripin.

However no plea were recorded from them pending transfer of the case to High Court 2 as requested deputy public prosecutor (DPP) Mohd Farez Rahman.

The DPP earlier told the court that the duo were also facing charges at the High Court under Section 130G(c) of the Penal Code.

On Nov 11, 2014, Rohaimi was charged with soliciting for property for IS militants through a blog, Revolusi Islam.com.

Mohamad Fauzi was charged with conspiring with Rohaimi, by allegedly allowing his Maybank account to be used.
