The people should cease making allegations of sexual abuse in connection with a religious school owned by Datuk Mohammad Kazim Elias as it was unfair to the popular preacher, said Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.

He said such allegations would only give a bad impression on the preacher and the school, Maahad Tahfiz Darul Barakah.

"Let the police complete their investigations into the case," he told reporters after opening the Beruas UMNO delegates meeting here Saturday.

Claims that several new students of the school were implicated in a sexual assault (sodomy), had recently gone viral in social media.

Mohammad Kazim has lodged a police report over the allegations.

Earlier, Mahdzir, who is also UMNO Supreme Council member said in his speech he was confident that UMNO had its own strength to face the 14th General Election despite the many challenges.

"As the people have also pledged to support the leadership of Prime Minister and UMNO president Datuk Seri Najib Razak, I urge everyone to continue the fight," he added.
