The government is aiming at fully implementing the Integrated Cashless Payment System (ICPS) for all public transportation in the Klang Valley by 2019.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said this would make it easier for city folk to travel within the Klang Valley.

"It is scheduled to be fully implemented for the LRT, MRT, Monorail, KTM Komuter and buses within the city," he said in reply to a question from Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh (BN-Setiu) during the Ministers' Question Time at the Dewan Rakyat sitting, today.

Mohamad Zulkifly wanted to know the ministry's plans to ensure public transport development projects offered efficient and affordable services to consumers.

Liow said at present, the services of about 300 feeder buses were available at all MRT stations on the Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) line since it became fully operational on July 17.

"The feeder buses which are run by Rapid KL begin operations as early as 6.30am until 11.30pm to help MRT passengers commute within five kilometres of the stations," he said.
