KUALA LUMPUR:The Cabinet Special Meeting held on Friday morning did not discuss the issue of the dissolution of Parliament, the General Election (GE) or the reshuffle of the existing ministers.

According to sources from Cabinet members, it only revolved around the discussion of the 2021 Budget issue scheduled for 4 pm, November 6 as well as a concerted effort to combat the third wave of COVID-19.

“Regarding Budget issues, we have to wait for the Ministry of Finance or the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin himself to make an announcement," he explained through WhatsApp messaging system, today.

The tabling of the 2021 Budget will be among those that will steal the spotlight at the Dewan Rakyat sitting which will sit again for 27 days, starting next November 2.

According to the Order of the Meeting on the official website of Parliament, the Supply (Budget) Bill 2021 is scheduled to be tabled by the Minister of Finance, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.

The meeting, among others, will discuss Budgets at the policy level, committees and ministerial answers.

According to the site, the debate on the bill and government affairs on different topics will take place simultaneously in both the Dewan Rakyat and the Dewan Negara, on 14 December.

The media was told that the meeting also discussed the government's efforts to implement a recovery strategy in helping Sabah affected by COVID-19.

Apart from that, there were also rumours that the meeting has something to do with support for the Perikatan Nasional government (PN).
