Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal said the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) will be discussed at a cabinet meeting on Friday.

His colleagues at the Cabinet, said Shafie are required to explain and detail the matter as the issue will have to be made transparent to the people to resolve this problem.

“We must discuss the matter ask the right questions (on 1MDB) … and my colleagues in the Cabinet were collectively responsible of the problems of the debt-stricken government agency.

"That's why we asked the questions... We want to know (as well). We must seek for explanation to be disseminated to the public at large … there should be a clarity. The question of knowing as we want to explain to the public at large,” said Shafie.

Shafie also added Cabinet ministers who raised questions on 1MDB were seeking for answers and not trying to blame anyone.

He also said that the Ministers have the "right want to know, not for our own benefit, but (so we can) explain to the people at large."
