All the secretary-generals of Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties will meet in Kuala Lumpur today to discuss the redelineation exercise proposed by the Election Commission (EC).

BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, who is also UMNO secretary-general, said the secretary-generals of the component parties were also required to hand over to him, their objections to the redelineation of electoral boundaries before submission to the EC.

"I will perhaps give them until next Tuesday to hand over on all that they are dissatisfied about," he told reporters after the closing of the Putrajaya inter-school class decoration and performance competition in conjunction with the Merdeka Month.

EC secretary Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh had said that the redelineation was to be implemented in accordance with Clause (2), Article 113 of the Federal Constitution and amendment to Clause (2), Article 14 of the Sabah State Constitution, which was gazetted on Aug 18, 2016.

All parties concerned are given one month until Oct 14 to submit their objections.

On Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin reportedly being proposed as prime minister if the opposition wins in the 14th General Election, Tengku Adnan who is also Federal Territories Minister, said it would not happen as the opposition would not win in the coming general election.

"Let them dream," he said on former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad naming Muhyiddin, who is Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) president, as candidate for the post of prime minister.

Dr Mahathir had reportedly said this when answering a question during his talk at the University of London, recently. -- BERNAMA
