The planned Bersih rally in Kuala Lumpur end of this month will only cause chaos in the city, said Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

He said it will also ignite anger among the vendors there, as their business will be disrupted.

"The participants are mostly outsiders, not people from KL.

"They purposely ignite anger among city dwellers apart from disrupting the vendors' businesses," he told newsmen at a KL City Hall Hari Raya open house today.

Tengku Adnan also said he will work with the police to ensure that the rally fails.

"We will monitor the group's next course of action.

"We will also work with the police to make sure that there will be no destruction in the city on that day," he said.

The Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih 2.0) before this had announced they were planning to hold another rally end of August, urging for clean elections, clean governance, saving the economy and preserving the right to dissent.

This will be the fourth rally organised by the coalition.

The Bersih 2.0 committee, chaired by Maria Chin Abdullah, also urged for action to be taken to restore public confidence into the probe involving 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
