PKR vice-president Chua Tian Chang and its Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin became the latest opposition leaders detained by the police tonight.

The Batu Member of Parliament, also known as Tian Chua, was arrested at his house for his involvement in Bersih 5 earlier today.

In his Twitter updates tonight, Tian Chua stated that he was held under Section 147 / 511 of the Penal Code for, among others, attempting to create riot and disturb public order.


He said he was taken to the police headquarters in Jalan Hang Tuah to assist in the investigation.

Meanwhile, Zuraida who is also Ampang member of Parliament, was arrested under "Ops Bersih", according to the police, as stated by the party's communications director Fahmi Fadzil in his tweet tonight.


The Bersih 5 rally was held in Kuala Lumpur today whereby some 18,000 people took part, most of them wearing yellow and red shirts.
